Recommended Supplies
Intro
Are you just start your Amazon e-commerce business, or looking to do things the right way? If you choose to do your own Amazon FBA prep, here is a list of supplies that are essential in order to get the job done.

Desktop Printer
I’m sure almost everyone has a printer somewhere in their home or office. A standard printer is an absolute necessity for Amazon FBA prep, as it allows you to print shipping labels and warning stickers. It can also be used to print FNSKU product labels as a last resort.
We highly recommend this printer from Amazon.

Label Printer
Label printers allow you to print hundreds of labels a minute. This is extremely useful if you are shipping hundreds or thousands of items at a time.
It is highly recommended you get a lazer printer due to its accuracy and consistency when printing a high volume of labels.
One printer we recommend is this Dymo label printer from Amazon.

FNSKU Labels
Label printers are great and all, but they dont work unless you have labels to print on!
If you’re using a label printer, special labels are needed in order for it to print correctly. You will need to research and look for labels that are compatible with your chosen printer’s brand and model. Furthermore, in order for labels to be Amazon compliant, they must be 2.25″ x 1.25″.
For the label printer we recommended, we recommend these labels, which will run you only $0.003/label!

(OPTIONAL) Polybags
If your products need to be polybagged, ensure that your polybags also follow Amazon prep guidelines.
Polybags are Amazon-compliant if they satisfy all of the following conditions:
- Transparent.
- 1/1000″ thick.
- Completely sealable.
- Less than 3″ of protrusion from the product.
- If opening is greater than 5″, must have a suffocation warning sticker. Here is a helpful guide for reference:
Length + Height | Suffocation Warning Font |
More than 60″ | 24pt font |
40″-59″ | 18pt font |
30″-39″ | 14pt font |
Less than 30″ | 10pt font |
We highly recommend this polybag bundle for its durability and highly effective self-sealing ability.

(OPTIONAL) Bubblewrap
Certain items may need to be bubblewrapped in order to be Amazon compliant. Choosing a good bubblewrap is important as it ensures that your sharp or fragile items are not damaged during shipping.
We highly recommend this brand, for their price and effectiveness.

(OPTIONAL) Label Applier
Applying labels can be a slow and tedious process, and can take hours or even days depending on the number of products. This is why we highly recommend a hand-held label applicator tool. Its functionality has a small learning curve, but once trained, you can use the label applicator to greatly increase your productivity!
We personally recommend this label applicator, and this useful tutorial on how to use it.

Scale
When shipping cartons, weight is extremely important.
Amazon requests weight information for all FBA shipments when you are generating shipping labels, and inputting an inaccurate weight can lead to fines and restrictions.
We recommend a scale with an external display like this one, but even a bathroom scale could work!

Shipping Boxes
The boxes you use to ship your items are very important, as they carry your products from you all the way to the designated Amazon FBA warehouse. They should be able to handle conditions such as rain, snow, heat, etc.
Note, in order for boxes to be Amazon compliant, they must not exceed 25″ on any side.

Tape
It’s pretty self-explanatory as to why tape is so important. We recommend this tape for its great price and effectiveness.

(OPTIONAL) Pallets
Pallets are a cost-effective method of shipping a large volume of product to an Amazon FBA warehouse.
Amazon FBA pallets must be wooden, GMA Standard B Grade or higher, 48″ x 40″, with a maximum height of 72″, and maximum weight of 1,500lbs. It is also recommended that the top of the pallet is as level as possible.
We highly recommend you contact an Amazon prep center (such as Prep Center USA) for pallet orders, as they can be fairly time consuming and manually intensive.
